Let's talk pole and gymnastics calluses...

Gymnastics can be super harsh on our hands and thighs; thankfully the vertical pole is not nearly as bad as some of other gymnastics apparatus... Scary Callus Picture

The Pole being smooth metal, is much easier on the body, in comparison to rough Rope and the rugged tape coatings on Bars and Trapeze etc. 

Rope is rough and renowned for carpet burn style war wounds on the soft skin of our legs. Bars and trapeze can induce callasis that rip open... Right down to the lower palm, ouch!

Calluses build up to enhance grip so please do not ever pick at them, use a Hero's Chiropody Sponge  excellent to file/buff them down to smooth plus it's quick and easy!

All the gymnastics skills make us super fit, look and feel beautiful and happy therefore become 'naturally sexier'.

I can't think of anything hotter than a sportsperson with a strong, toned and flexible body, displaying excellent form!

If the time is right I personally find bump & grind very easy to do lol but seriously feel pole dancing solely belongs in Adult Only environments.

Whatever your preference, I recommend when pole training to purely focus on mastering the vertical pole gymnastics exercises first.

My students and I have always received a positive reaction because we inherently separate the two movement styles, especially when on public display.

To meet her is to love her; Steph Magiros has a super sweet nature, very pretty and the gymnastic skill level to master anything on the pole... no need to say I adore training her.

A National Champion Gymnast turned Olympic Half Pipe Snowboarder in this years Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics +Steph Magiros is a true Aussie Champion!

I know gymnastics is in their blood because her mother +Helen Magiros is already an Advanced Black-Band pole gymnast at Pole Fitness Studios(c).

It is a privilege to be Step's Pole Fitness Instructor and ensure she masters yet another gymnastic apparatus... Vertical pole!

Granny Pole Gymnast...

Iris is the oldest person to regularly attend Pole Fitness Studios(c), starting vertical pole gymnastics at aged 72 years!

I am still challenged after 15 years by vertical pole gymnastics, never bored and totally addicted to pole... for Life!

I adore teaching and the opportunity to offer the community such an awesome solution to all their fitness needs, in one fun pole session.

When you do Pole Fitness regularly, it becomes extremely comfortable on the body and you see major results, it's very rewarding.

Glenn Barker's physiotherapy of broken wrists & back using Pole Fitness...

In 2009 after a nasty fall that literally broke Glenn's back and pulverized both wrists, he started at Pole Fitness Studios(c) and is now completely rehabilitated. 

By attending two vertical pole gymnastics classes each week, he has successfully re-gained full range of movement, looks and feels better than ever!

"Without pole I would not have the full range of movement, in my wrists, that I have now! 
I used Hanging exercises for my back and 'Forearm' Handstands at first but now I am able to do everything. I love Pole Fitness so much!" +Glenn Barker said.

He is an inspiration to all of us, proving it only requires part-time pole training and commitment.

Why add the 'dance' to pole?

There are literally hundreds of aerodynamic exercises to breakdown, learn and master within vertical pole gymnastics.

Mixing this instruction with any other form of human movement, compromises the integrity of what is being learned.

Awesome fun with a huge amount of content to teach, purely focused on the vertical pole gym skills.

Safety First... students need the actual knowledge required, to understand what they are doing at all times, plus remember the breakdown of individual pole exercises they learn.

Dance or other skills of any kind; are easily added after mastering vertical pole gymnastic skills. 

Personally I prefer to see a person on the pole the entire demonstration, including only a tiny amount of floor work; that connect to pole 'Mounts and Dismounts' only.

Are Females good at vertical pole gymnastics?

Not all woman feel as if they are strong enough to 'pull themselves up' the pole and the truth is... 

Everyone is able to 'Hang' on a pole (no 'pulling up' required) and it is simply a matter of correct instruction.

A 'Double Arm Hang' is actually the most relaxing way of activating your muscles, even stretching your spine... I almost drool every time!

Are Males good at Vertical Pole Gymnastics?

Strange to think Vertical Pole is a female preferred fitness in the Western Culture, when it is a 'male dominated' sport in the East.

Males usually have narrow hips and especially compared to their typically broad shoulder width; meaning men are awesome at Pole Fitness and all vertical pole sports.

The differences between both sex's physique, has different strengths & weaknesses depicting pole exercise ability, especially when first starting out.

My boyfriend loves his thrice a week pole gym ritual and can't imagine life without it!
